As a child Francine thought of little Glyn Brewin as a younger brother. The pair met regularly down at Filbert Street as both of their families were keen Leicester City fans.

But as the years passed and Francine and Glyn grew up they began to see each other in a very different light.

The friends indulged in no more than a bit of bantering and flirting until one night at City's Player of the Year awards ceremony.

Glyn said: "There was a drunken kiss at the end of the night. The next day there was a radio roadshow at Victoria Park and I asked Fran to go along."

Football is a family affair

Within six months Glyn proposed during a meal at Filbert Street. He refused to go as far as popping the question during a game. "I've seen these clowns that propose on the pitch at half-time and I've seen the abuse they get from 20,000 fans. I wasn't really up for that."

The couple are now introducing their two children, three-year-old Phoebe and baby Sam to the game. At the moment, Phoebe is more interested in Filbert the Fox and Vicki and Vixen than the intricacies of the game. Francine said: "We've got to try and brainwash them!"
