John Neal
from Glenfield in Leicester, a recent graduate design from
De Montfort University, has just completed a highly successful
week exhibiting his award-winning work at Londons prestigious
New Designers exhibition.
John exhibited
his project entitled 'Bus Station Design' from 11th July -
14th July. The project was completed as part of his BA (Hons)
Interior Design degree course and in the face of stiff competition,
he was awarded The Portland Future of Design Award for Spatial
Design.
"I
was shocked and surprised to receive the award. Its
given me more confidence and self-belief in my work as an
interior designer. As result of the award I am hoping that
many of my ambitions will be realised," says John.
Johns
winning project is new a design concept for Leicester St Margarets
Bus Station. The bus station was redesigned to enhance the
travel experience for passengers and also to become a feature
of the city centre, restoring public confidence in the bus
transport system.
Staged at the Business Design Centre in Islington, New Designers
attracts over 20,000 visitors from industry, media and the
general public keen to see the best new British design talent.
A
group of over 50 art and design graduates from De Montfort
University were selected to represent the Faculty of Art &
Design at the show, and to participate in this unique opportunity
to launch their design careers.
