Brighter days ahead for Heartland
October 2001
Straight from the heartland

Grown-up pop from local four-piece who Cry Hard for Love.

Listening post audio

From the upbeat powerpop of Blue Skies, through the vitriol of Not A Game For Three, to the joy of Paint Paradise, Heartland presents a rainbow pop spectrum.

Influences are drawn from grown-up pop bands including Simply Red, Crowded House, Toploader and The Blue Nile but they claim their style is theirs alone.

Pulling on the heartstrings

Rob Walker's plaintiff vocals are backed by guitar from Andy Hartshorn, keyboards from Dave Ellard and bass from Andy Willett.
