APPLAUSE is a Community Interest group with the twin aims of promoting talented local performers and at the same time raising money for local charities.

Founder members of APPLAUSE include BBC Leicester's Dave Andrews, Martin Ballard and Monica Winfield – all of whom have close connections with the performing arts in Leicester and Leicestershire.

APPLAUSE Somewhere is a musical world tour of great show songs from Chicago to Miss Saigon and Bali Hi to Oklahoma. Theatre groups from Leicester, Wigston, Melton, Hinckley and Loughborough are combining to present a stunning and entertaining show with all your favourite songs from the musicals.

"A Helping Hand for Local Charities"

This year the money raised from the shows will go towards the Special Olympics in Leicester – The Lord Mayor's Appeal.

There will also be donations to the charities being supported by the current mayors of Charnwood, Melton and Hinckley.

These are Age Concern Leicester Shire and Rutland – Charnwood Ambulance Appeal (Charnwood), Trumpton – Melton fire Service Charity (Melton) and The Matthew Fulham Foundation (Hinckley)
