Help playing audio/video Ben started off by asking him about his next adventure. Mark said: "I'm flying up to the Arctic circle and the northern territories of Norway and Finland. "We'll be heading to some remote wilderness, some tiny little log cabins, all raw and desolate, and we'll hoping for some clear skies and if we're lucky we will get some clear skies." "It really is completely wild. It's not so much mountainous. It's very flat and as far as the eye can see it's white and snow. It really is a beautiful place in there. "We're going at a peak time of solar activity, and that's what makes the northern lights." ![]() Bore: Photo captured by Mark Raw BeautyMark adds some of the world's greatest scenery will be on offer, and to share this experience, he's is taking his wife with him. Ben joked he will need an igloo for two. Mark added it's really a once in a lifetime opportunity: "To be actually up there and experience what a few people have seen and experience Mother Nature throw out at you, and when you see the Northern Lights, it's like watching and looking at the sky and you see a river of colour. "Obviously you can't predict everything but we're going at a peak time, but we can't vouch for clear skies. "We'll be there for a week so hopefully I'll come back with some very good photographs." last updated: 12/02/2009 at 14:48 You are in: Leicester > People > Your Stories > Picture pole perfect |
