Unlike many musician's Loughborough born and bred Lisa de Ville's talent does not stem from family tradition:

"I'm the black sheep of the family. I'm the only one who plays an instrument or sings. Though my dad sings in the bath..."

Lisa has varied influences that include heavy rock, acoustic singer-songwriters, and ex-boyfriends!

The singer-songwriter has received classical training and boasts an impressive four octave range – something that might not just be useful for gigging:

Leicestershire - the place to be

Lisa is well aware of how difficult it can be to break into the music industry, but things are looking positive with her set to start working with a small record company from the beginning of January.

She feels the local music scene is improving and there are more opportunities for artists to move forwards and gain great experience:

"There's loads of bands from Loughborough and Leicestershire who are doing really well at the moment. So we don't need to live in London anymore, thankfully."
