Children In Need
Children in Need for 2008
BBC presenters will be hosting Children In Need night in Derby this year on 14 November. BBC Leicester's Tony Wadsworth will be performing with Pudsey and others in Pudsey Does Stars in Their Eyes.
Join Pudsey and his friends at the Westfield Centre in Derby for all the fun of Children in Need 2008 on Friday 14 November.
This year we are trying to break our regional total of £725,000 set last year.
Almost £29,000 of that total was donated at last year’s outside broadcast at East Midlands Airport.
A highlight of the evening will be Pudsey Does Stars in Their Eyes with performers including BBC Leicester's Tony Wadsworth.
Waddo will join Des Coleman from BBC East Midlands Today, Frances Finn from BBC Radio Nottingham and Ed George from BBC Radio Derby.
Professional judges will make their final choice at the Westfield Centre on the big night, so come along and see the performances.
Pudsey will be hosting a Sci-fi Party with characters and vehicles from favourite science fiction films and TV shows.
So far we've got Star Wars, Star Trek and Doctor Who characters and the "Fab1" car from Thunderbirds.
We've got special sci-fi guests and a chance to have your photo taken with one of them or Pudsey Bear.
There will be plenty of live music, dancers, Junior Jedi's and lots more fun! And Pudsey gets to switch on the Westfield Christmas Lights!
Car parking will only cost one pound on the night as Westfield have agreed to reduce the charge for the charity night only. All proceeds will go to BBC Children in Need.
All you have to do is take your car parking ticket issued by the machine on entry to the Concierge Desk before exiting and hand over £1 or more if you wish and the staff will validate the ticket.
On the night, you can present donation cheques to BBC East Midlands Today's Anne Davies and Pudsey plus there will be a Pudsey Bank where you can pay in your fundraising cheques too.
The shops will be staying open until 22:00.
Westfield Derby is right in the centre of the city with plenty of parking, bus stops are within a two minute walk and Derby Railway Station is 10 minutes away.
Every one is welcome to come along and join in the fun... from mid afternoon till 23:00.
Some fund-raising events are already being planned, including one from a Leicester firm - Alltruck Plc - that will see the profits from the rental of a truck for ONE YEAR donated to Children in Need. Well done to them.
