It's 90 years since the end of the First World War and although almost all the men who fought are now gone, many people still have connections to the conflict.
Richard Gill's own uncle fought, and his mother lived through the war and told him stories of the battles fought.
Richard's made this film in Victoria Park, the scene of Leicester's majestic cenotaph and talks about the significance of the structure.
He also reads us a poem he created, moved by the memories he has.
