LCFC manager Martin Allen has already made some dramatic changes to the squad with no less than 12 new signings. But for one day this week he really shook things up when members of the team took on slightly different roles. Any passing fans may have been confused to spot their favourite players sweeping carparks, selling merchandise or doing a touch of cleaning. Listen: Foxes Job SwapBBC Leicester's Katharine Sutton visited Iain Hume in his new role as Walker's stadium receptionist and spoke to Manager Martin Allen about the job switch... Audio and Video links on this page require Realplayer Hume commented that the team were just expecting a tour of the Walkers Stadium, so were quite surprised to discover that they would be taking part in a one day life swap! ![]() Alan Sheehan's new role Still, Hume was positive about Allen's arrangement: "To come and do this you get to introduce yourself to a few people and see what they go through. "I think he just wants to get all of us to realise how lucky we are that we do what we do." Allen said that he felt it was important that the footballers appreciated all the work that goes on behind the scenes, "with the team behind the team", in an attempt to close the gap between the players and stadium staff. He also hoped it would shatter any illusion that the players are above and beyond their loyal fans: ![]() Stuffing envelopes! "Footballers are just normal people. They run around on a pitch and play quite good football sometimes, but they're only normal people." And a bit of hard work has never done anyone any harm, a statement Allen believes from experience: "I've done the whole lot – painted places, swept up places, cooked it, cleaned it, washed it.
