Leicestershire's Unsigned

The Dearly Departed
The Dearly Departed

Unsigned: The Dearly Departed

By John Sinclair, BBC Leicester
The Dearly Departed are a four piece rock band based in North West Leicestershire. From their origins in bedroom recording, they are now moving on up in the world...

"I'm really enjoying myself and the band is now looking forward to gigging."
Kriss, lead singer and rhythm guitar

The Dearly Departed were formed by Kriss (or KMC as he's sometimes known) after he wrote and recorded an album in his own bedroom in 2006.

Part of the Honeychildren band of the 1990s Kriss was keen to get a new band together, something he managed to do early in 2007.

After many rehearsals in Whitwick the four piece rock group went into the Deadline studio's in June to record a four track demo, with all the songs penned by Kriss.

Kriss, who plays rhytmn guitar, first recruited his old Honeychildren buddy and lead guitarist Paul, and then added Pip the bassist and drummer Slater, both of whom have played with other local bands in the past.

Kriss is also the bands vocalist and has a real rock edge "I'm really enjoying myself and the band is now looking forward to gigging"

He also has a range of bands he enjoys listening to, such as W.A.S.P, Alice Cooper, and more recently Buckcherry.
