Leicester Panthers 1996 Senior League National Champions, including former Tigers and England Rugby Union captain, Martin Johnson, will take on Loughborough Aces 2007 Collegiate Bowl Finalists in an American Football match at Welford Road on 28 May 2007.

Listen to an interview with Martin Johnson and listen LIVE to full commentary of The Matt Hampson Bowl here from 15:00 on Bank Holiday Monday...

Martin Johnson says that although the match is for a good cause, he's really enjoyed getting back in shape and playing American Football again.

The former Tigers captain has been a fan of the sport for many years, and has played for the Leicester Panthers Youth and Senior teams in the past.

He says it's great to be back in a team situation again:

"It's been amazing actually - the last six months - the guys all getting back together and training and getting ready for this game. It's been great fun already, never mind even playing the game yet, so we're really looking forward to it..."

While Johnson's pleased to be back on the pitch with his old teammates, he says he's also been very impressed with their dedication to making the Matt Hampson Bowl happen:

"Getting back together with the Panthers guys, some of whom I've not seen for a long long time, 18 or 19 years some of them, some guys have flown back especially from the States, some of the American boys and some who live there now to play in this game...A lot of people have put a lot of time and effort in to get this thing going."

Join Charlie Dagnall from 15:00 on Monday 28 May for full commentary of The Matt Hampson Bowl when Leicestershire legend Martin Johnson returns to Welford Road!
