Our fantastic stage show begins with a performance from an amazing group of singers. Kainé Management Group is an organisation dedicated to developing gospel arts across schools and the community both locally and nationally. Kainé enjoys the inspirational qualities of gospel and believes it can be positively transferred into a variety of different art forms that include singing, dance and theatre. Shauna Richardson and Dave Towers will be entertaining you with the lindy hop and jitterbug. These talented dancers run weekly sessions every Monday teaching this authentic dance style of the '30s at Firebug Bar, Millstone Lane, Leicester. More people are always welcome to join them. Loughborough University student Colette only started singing professionally in November 2006 but she has gone from strength to strength at an incredible speed. Since performing at the Loughborough Christmas lights switch on show for BBC Leicester she has sung in front of more than 40,000 people at various events. Colette brings a fresh new sound to some old classics and will also be performing her own song live for the very first time at the Abbey Park Show. Want2dance

This group of people love modern jive dancing and want to encourage others to enjoy dancing too! They hold classes throughout the week and teach modern jive across the Midlands with clubs in Melton Mowbray, Hinckley, Burton on Trent and Birstall. No partner or booking is required, you can just turn up. Members of the Melton branch performed at BBC Leicester's Open Centre and had complete beginners joining in within minutes! Stevie began as a solo performer some 15 years ago busking and playing floor spots at local folk clubs - an influence that still comes across in his music. His powerful and original acoustic-based songs are always delivered straight from the heart, with influences touching Van Morrison, The Waterboys, early David Gray, Folk, Rock, and much more. A passionate live performer he is frequently joined on stage by the awesome guitar skills of Mark Gill, who features on the debut album, New Life. This dance group are Leicester's leading South Asian Dance company, specialising in Bollywood, Indian Classical Dance and Contemporary dance. Nupur Arts are known for excellence in performance standards, and have a well established reputation in providing high quality dance classes and workshops. Time Out is a six piece band comprising of drum, bass, guitar, trombone, trumpet and saxophone. They play a variety of music from tunes like 'The A Train' through to more modern jazz, even touching on Sting's solo work. As well as private gigs they are often seen at The Phoenix Theatre on a Sunday lunchtime playing jazz. The Displacements

This young band from Leicester have big ideas. They honed their talents playing free gigs in local pubs, they then started touring and playing gigs all over the country travelling in the backs of vans. Their style has been likened to The Who and The Kinks.
After a riotous set at the Summer Sundae Festival (they've been asked back to open the main stage this year), playing on Steve Lamacq, getting a manager and lots of gigs, they started to receive a lot of industry attention so make sure you don't miss their performance at the Abbey Park! Studio 79

Ellie Phillips created Studio 79 after teaching in London at some of the top studios as well as performing and choreographing in many shows. Since she began her dance training at a local school in Leicester, returning here to set up her own dance school seemed the obvious thing to do. The dancers will perform a hip-hop routine choreographed by Gemma Owen-Ford, the resident hip hop teacher at the studio. Radio Leicester All Star Band

The Radio Leicester All Stars are eagerly anticipating their first ever open-air concert reviewing some sounds from the '60s! The band consists of BBC Radio Leicester presenters Tony Wadsworth, Monica Winfield and Chris Highton as well as BBC engineer Tim Wilkinson, newest recruit Joanne Fagon and special guest star Pete Hancock. Recently the band have performed at the Birstall Social Club and Leicester College - they are not to be missed whether you're a BBC Radio Leicester listener or not! The Dandilions

Like many young bands the Dandilions formed at school, playing covers at parties and Saturday matinees. They took their inspiration from the Specials, the Clash and Bob Marley as well as more modern day artists such as the Libertines, Arctic Monkeys and The Streets. The Dandilions have their own unique sound as one of the key bands coming through the East Midlands right now. Their performance at The Abbey Park Show will be well worth a listen. The Platforms This glam rock band consists of four intrepid musical rebels who say they bring a new meaning to the words 'let your hair down' on planet earth. Their front man on lead vocals is Craig, the rest of band all provide backing vocals with Dan on guitar, John on bass and Jam on drums. With brightly coloured wigs and makeup this powerful guitar based group already has a large following and should provide an energetic and entertaining finale to a fantastic show.
