We're ready to honour the the people who've contributed most to sport across the East Midlands in 2006. The awards will take place at the Assembly Rooms in Derby on Monday 27 November 2006. Last year Dawn Blythe from Shepshed near Loughborough was recognised for her commitment to coaching youngsters in cross-country, football and basketball and made it through to the 2005 BBC East Midlands Unsung Hero Awards. The search for Sport's Unsung Hero is taking place across the UK. The regional Sport's Unsung Heroes will be invited to the BBC Sports Personality of the Year programme on 10 December 2006 where the overall winner will be announced. How to make a nomination You will need to complete all sections of the nomination form below. Your nominee must be informed and have agreed to being entered. Regional winners will be announced on of before 04 December 2006. Nominees may be asked to appear on BBC TV and / or Radio. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding their decision. This year the Unsung Hero Award is supported by Tesco. Get your nominations in!
