China Talks offers a range of events catering for everyone. All events and activities are free and operate on a 'drop in' basis unless otherwise stated. New Walk Museum & Art Gallery The 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar represents the Mid-Autumn Festival, a day when the moon is especially round and bright. This year within the solar calendar, the Moon Festival falls on 06 October. On this day, families will eat special 'moon cakes' and study the moon by lantern light to see if they can see 'Chang-e' the lady who lives there with a little rabbit. Each festival is rich in excitement and participation and is a very important part of Chinese tradition. BBC Radio Leicester, St Nicholas Place Hand-pulled noodles (la mian) are made without the use of a machine. Chefs, who spend years perfecting their technique, repeatedly fold and twist a lengthy rope of dough until, as if by magic, it separates into thin strands.
