Plane passengers can now offer up prayers for a safe flight - in a faith room at a Leicestershire airport! Nottingham East Midlands Airport in Castle Donington has installed the facility.

Nervous passengers can pray for a safe flight in a new faith room at a Leicestershire airport.

The prayer room has been set up at Nottingham East Midlands Airport (NEMA) in Castle Donington.

It will be open around the clock and has seats for 40 people in an area next to departure security.

There is also a chaplain's office where people can have personal consultations.

a specially commissioned painting, called the Power of the Spirit, by artist Yvonne Bell will hang in the room.

British Isles and Eire airport chaplaincy coordinator Reverend Roy Monks, who is based at NEMA, says people do not have to be religious to use the room.

He said: "Our passengers can also use it for private, quiet reflection as well as prayer.

"Other UK airports have prayer rooms so we're absolutely delighted to have a dedicated space now."
