BBC Radio Leicester's Rupal Rajani has won an award for her emotional radio documentary, Rupal's Ugandan Journey.

Rupal was presented with her Race In the Media Award (RIMA) for factual radio on 15 June at London's Royal Opera House.

Race In the Media Awards

RIMA aim to celebrate exceptional ways in which the media have reported race issues.

This year's awards specifically reflected the ways in which journalists, editors, producers, writers and performers dealt with issues of integration, diversity and Britishness.
