It's getting round to that time of year again and we at BBC Leicester can't wait - Summer Sundae 2006 is nearly upon us! This year the event will be running from Friday 11 August to Sunday 13 August and is promising to be the biggest and best yet. For those not in the know, the festival runs for three days and shows an eclectic mix of exciting artists over four stages - The Outdoor Stage, The Indoor Stage, The Musicians Stage and The Rising Stage, which showcases up and coming regional acts. Brand new for 2005 the eFestivals Cabaret Tent will feature local, national and international comedic talent.

There is a choice of two campsites in very close walking distance of the stages, but also in relatively close proximity to the city centre (so you can always taste some of Leicester's finest cuisine if you don't fancy beans every night!) Those who weren't quick enough for the elusive Carling Weekend tickets (or are missing Glasto in the fallow year) can find a small scale alternative in Summer Sundae. Summer Sundae offers a perfect chance to smugly declare you were into the latest hot band before they were famous. After all it has often been the case that those big at De Monfort Hall find themselves pretty high up on large festival bills a year or two later. Prime examples include the Ordinary Boys and Leicester's finest, Kasabian, in 2004, The Magic Numbers, Editors, Hot Chip and KT Tunstall last year. Here's the line up as it currently stands in full... Main Stages
