World Book Day

Come along to BBC Leicester's World Book Day Book Swap. It's time to get rid of that book you're tired of and swap it for a brand new read. They will be hundreds of books to choose from at no cost!

World Book Day
Description:Take part in BBC Leicester's World Book Day Book Swap.
Start Date:02/03/2006
Start Time:11:00
End Time:14:30
Genres:Community
Venue Town:Leicester

Thursday 02 March is World Book Day when all of us will celebrate the fun of owning and reading books.

Whether it's Harry Potter or Agatha Christie, Ruth Rendell or the latest DIY or makeover plan, books are still all about the enjoyment of learning, being entertained and discovering new ideas and experiences. More books than ever before are being published right now.

At the BBC Leicester Open Centre we're holding another of our popular BookSwaps.  So bring along a book you're tired of because someone else will definitely want to read it. And in return, rummage through the hundreds of books we'll have on display and take away another book that catches your eye!

Every book will include a specially printed Bookplate on which you can write your name and your comments about your book.

Radio Leicester presenters will be taking part too. Perhaps you'll find Bill Maynard's very own collection of Northern folk stories, personally signed!

And information and advice about borrowing and buying books from the city and county library services, Borders and the BBC Shop.

It's all absolutely free!
