Pinash Dankwah

Pinash presents Into Africa every Sunday from 20:00-22:00 on BBC Radio Leicester 104.9FM, DAB and on radio on demad. Read on to find out the juicy details...

Pinash believes in openness, hope, faith and humility as the most fundamental principles of life. He was born in the Ashanti city of Kumasi in Ghana.

Music was an inspirational tool for Pinash whilst growing up as a young African warrior.

His love for music developed from the sound that beating sheep skin stretched over empty cans to form drums and played on the streets of Accra and Kumasi.

His interest in radio was as a result of listening to BBC world service on a battery-operated pocket radio in Ghana. His true inspiration came from listening to Ranking Miss P, who at the time was a Radio 1 presenter of reggae music.

Pinash is a strong believer in educating listeners about African culture and heritage. He views its cultural integration into Western society as the key bring to the enrichment and social harmony of the citizens of Leicester.
