Dave presents Down to Earth, the gardening roadshow programme from 12:00-13:00 every Sunday. Read on to find out the juicy details...
Dave first came to BBC Radio Leicester answering the phones as a volunteer 12 years ago. He's come along way since then and now presents and co-presents at the weekends.
Dave was born and brought up in the South East, and came to Leicester some 25 years ago.
He liked the city and county so much that he ended up staying put.
He's now spent much of his life in Leicester and the final vestiges of Southern allegiance are a quick look at Kent's cricket score and West Ham's results – but only after looking at those of Leicestershire and City!
Dave trained as a teacher and became a Deputy Head at one of our county schools before moving full time to BBC Radio Leicester.
It's a proud boast that he has presented every programme on Radio Leicester, save our the specialist output.
This year most of Dave's time has been taken up organising the events and fundraising for our 40th Birthday and Ruby Rainbow Appeal.
From Cathedral Services to Abbey Park events, Ruby Rainbow theatrical shows and a De Montfort Hall Charity Concert to charity dinners and balls - rarely a day goes by without a cheque presentaion or speech!
Dave said, "It's been the most demanding year of my life so far as work is concerned - but so worthwhile - particularly now we're well on the way to our £400,000 target"
