For many, getting work published is like Mission Impossible.

However, for those who have an interest in writing, publishing or broadcasting, a new local organisation called Crystal Clear Creators has been set up to help people develop their skills.

Set up by Loughborough University lecturer  Jonathan Taylor and ex-head of Loughborough Campus Radio, Robin Webber-Jones, with the aim of getting onto the BBC’s list of independent producers - this Internet-based organisation is taking off.

The organisation exists to help people reach the next step. “Funded by the Arts Council, there is no other organisation quite like this that specialises in producing and promoting new talent - especially students,” says Jonathan.

Getting published seems a far cry to many with an interest in writing, but with agencies such as this it is much easier for writers to get their name seen and work noticed.

People don't have to fancy themselves as the next J.K.Rowling to get involved either as members can also record voice-overs, do readings and increase confidence.

Most will know one of the most reliable skills in communication is public speaking, which is also one of the hardest to master. But as one member says: “I found doing poetry reading a really daunting prospect, but it really was a big confidence-booster and I have no problem getting up and talking to a group of people any more.”

If you are interested in getting involved contact robin@crystalclearcreators.org or J.P.Taylor1@lboro.ac.uk or if you'd prefer, come along to the next live event - just check out the website link on this page for more details.
