We are a non-profit making organisation with the aim of promoting interest in the history of Ulster and strengthening the links between Ireland and the Irish abroad. This is a recently launched sister site to Ancestry Ireland. It centres around a searchable database of some 60,000 gravestone inscriptions from throughout Northern Ireland. History From Headstones also contains individual cemetery studies, a timeline and inscription themes. These themes include military, ships, bizarre and interesting, geographic and child death. There is also a photo gallery of headstones and a section on poems relating to deaths and burials.
