FACTS

Basics began in 1991.

Since then, four venues have been its home- The Music Factory, The Pleasure Rooms (which later became The Mint Club) and now Rehab.

Basics' residents play across the world in Turkey, London, Russia, Barcelona, Asia and of course, Ibiza.

Basics' has hosted a number of nights across the country and across the world including Homelands, Vodkafields and Space in Ibiza.

Basics has won numerous awards from the clubbing press.

Perhaps that's why the crowd have just such a good attitude. Everyone is friendly, smiley and just happy having a good time.

As well as attracting a big crowd, Basics always attracts the big name DJs too.

The night I went it was especially busy because it was the Subliminal Sessions party. Harry Romero was headlining. Not that you need a guest DJ at Basics because the residents are big names enough really.

So while there maybe long queues to get into the club, to the bar and to the toilet, the waiting is all worthwhile for what awaits.

Fantastic music which is just that bit different. If you like your dance music dark and dirty, you'll love Basics.

The music in the upstairs room is that bit more relaxed, playing a bit of soul, funk and R 'n' B.

Unlike other clubs, there are plenty of places to sit down in Rehab so you can rest your feet after all that dancing and there are lots of beautiful, if a little worse for wear, clubbers to cast your eyes over while you wait to get your second wind.

Go on, get up and get on that dancefloor!
