Eddie
Izzard was in the city for a question and answer session about his
latest film, The Cat's Meow.
The
film tells the true story of murder on board William Randolph Hearst's
luxury yacht on 15 November 1924. It's a film that mixes murder
mystery and Hollywood gossip.
Eddie
Izzard stars as the silent screen icon Charlie Chaplin. He says:
"The murder is bizarrely less key, even though it's obviously
a hyper-dramatic thing in the situation of a relaxing weekend. But
the key is the love triangle between Hearst, Chaplin and Marion
Davies which was absolutely true... Hollywood is the backdrop and
the love triangle is at the foreground of the story."
