Eat to the beat!

If music be the food of love, there's a feast coming to Armley this summer!

Now in its second year, the Armley Music Feast returns with a packed menu featuring some top homegrown talent. Up and coming local musicians will play alongside established artists, with indie, folk, blues, funk and even a bit of beatboxing all in the mix.

The event is organised by a group of music-loving nurses based at the local St Mary's Hospital, which looks after learning-disabled people. The idea, is to put on a fun event which will bring learning-disabled people and the local community together. The day is being organised completely on a voluntary basis and any money raised will go to various learning disability projects.

Among the nine musical groups and artists playing will be ex-Blueskins frontman Ryan Spendlove, the energetic L-Mo and up and coming young Leeds band Alisdair Dinnewell and the 3-D Glasses.

The daytime musical highlight will be communal singing run by the 'Soul Daddy of Leeds', preacher turned singing powerhouse "Reverend Chunky" Cleve Freckleton. Entrance to this daytime event is free.

The family day will be followed by the main event, an evening of local music, starting at 5pm. Tickets are required for the evening event (free for learning-disabled people) with the money raised going to local charity.
