Gordon Brown has appeared live on BBC Radio Leeds talking with Andrew Edwards and Georgey Spanswick. Listen to the full interview here...

The Prime Minister was in the BBC Radio Leeds studios on Thursday 2 July 2009.

He was talking to Andrew and Georgey and answering many of your questions. Gordon Brown recently launched a series of initiatives called Building Britain's Future and he wants feedback from the public about the plans.

The first question that was asked was straight to the point - "When are you going to step down?"

As you would expect Gordon Brown was keen to see the government's term run on.

"I spend my time trying to get the economy moving... and building the future."

Other questions covered the Iraq war enquiry, free prescriptions in England and transport. Gordon Brown was also pressed by Andrew Edwards on the funding of the Leeds Supertram.

Michelle, who runs a small business in Kirkgate market, offered a personal invitation for the Prime Minister to take a trip to her stall and see the problems faced by Michelle and other traders because of the recession.

The last question was from Jim, who was self-employed, and it was about the security of pensions.
