The Prime Minister was in the BBC Radio Leeds studios on Thursday 2 July 2009. ![]() Gordon Brown enters BBC Radio Leeds The first question that was asked was straight to the point - "When are you going to step down?" As you would expect Gordon Brown was keen to see the government's term run on. "I spend my time trying to get the economy moving... and building the future." Other questions covered the Iraq war enquiry, free prescriptions in England and transport. Gordon Brown was also pressed by Andrew Edwards on the funding of the Leeds Supertram. Michelle, who runs a small business in Kirkgate market, offered a personal invitation for the Prime Minister to take a trip to her stall and see the problems faced by Michelle and other traders because of the recession.
