A former building site has been transformed from gravel to grass with a perfectly mowed lawn and with its own golden tree, pink rabbits, an orange bell tower and sound boxes which produce curious summertime noises such as a recording of rhubarb growing or 1970s vinyl birdsong. ![]() Wonderwood is a community space, free to use by anyone anytime, and also there for people to host their own activities and events. The organisers hope more of the community is able to take advantage of this space before the end of August 2009 - it's a temporary scheme, but the more people who use it, the more reason there is for backers to keep it in place. Anything goes - there's been yoga classes, a Samba band, egg and spoon races... and coming up, a free Music & Arts Festival (1 August), a Jazznic (picnic + jazz) amongst other things. To use it for an event or activity visit the Facebook Page (http://tiny.cc/0Bld6) or tweet at www.twitter.com/villagepost, or drop them an email:
