I Love West Leeds Festival 2008The pioneering local area festival returns bigger and better in its fourth year. The I Love West Leeds Festival, organised by Interplay Theatre - based in Armley, has added something a little different to the events calendar in Leeds. Besides the usual attractions you'd expect, the organisers pride themselves on offering something unique. This year you'll be able to sample a travelling ice-cream van, complete with chilled out comedy characters; a photographic portrait of people’s mantelpieces; a charity shop DJ playing all your old favourites; roller disco; book swap; tea dance and a chance to hide on the back seat at the drive-in movies. Also, there's Festival Day at Armley Mills, taking place from 12 noon - 5pm on Sunday 6 July 2008; where you can take a peek inside the teats of a 30 feet long inflatable pig; gasp in amazement at the world's longest underpant line; enjoy an all-singing tale of love in the form of 'Armley: The Musical'; and meet Hodman Dodman and Sally Forth, an elderly couple of minature proportions – admission free. Regular events like The Armley Tea Dance and Shedopolis - the fascinating world of customised sheds!! - are also back on the menu, as the organisers hope that the weather can hold off and this year's event can be the biggest and best yet. The I Love West Leeds Festival 2008 takes place at various venues between Saturday 5 July and Sunday 20 July 2008.
