This week so many of our stories have come from you. You told us about Catholic school buses not carrying non-catholic passengers, people abusing mother and child parking spaces in Yeadon and the Leeds United fan who travels from Norway for the love of his club (to name a few).

We love to hear your stories and you can email westyorkshirewire@bbc.co.uk if you’ve got something you think other people might want to hear about.
Or, call or text on 07711 856 800.

JUST THE TICKET?

School buses, loads of you have been in touch about the Catholic school bus that won't pick up non-Catholic students even though they go to the same school.

We would love to speak to someone from Wakefield Council to explain their actions but all we've had is a statement from the council saying its policy follows national rules set out in the Education and Inspections Act.

An American school busJim emailed to say "The problem is that the parents have chosen to send their child or children to a different, out of area school. Which means they are passing nearer schools, probably even within walking distance. That is why the law prohibits councils paying for the transport" and Alan says about the choice of school for his daughter "I paid willingly for her transport from 11-18 believing I had made the choice of school of my own free will I could not expect the taxpayer to fund my choice."

email westyorkshirewire@bbc.co.uk with your views.

WISE COMPARISON

Dennis Wise: Getty ImagesDennis Wise (right) has got the goat of Derby County fans with his comments that Leeds is a "much bigger club than Derby" so why would Jermaine Beckford want to go there? Ex-Bradford Boss Paul Jewell rose to the bait calling Wise "disrespectful" saying Beckford's not good enough for them. Don't you love a good football bitch? Leeds v Derby, it's like being back in 1975!

Then not content with that Andrew and Georgey found themselves in the middle of a 'who's bigger, Huddersfield Town or Leeds United?' debate. Mark in Leeds texted to say the last time Huddersfield won a cup "Dick Turpin robbed coach on the way back" but you cannot argue with three league titles in a row. Yes I know they were in the 1920s but as the supporter of a club who last won a major trophy the year before I was born, they all count.

DON'T MENTION THE DIET

Tempting cakesIf you do bump into Georgey either down the gym or at a health spa (but definitely not in the pub or cake shop, see right) then don't mention the diet. She says "such bad news on the diet front - No weight loss, only steady at 13 st! oops"

Well we're all behind you Spanners, Judy's text message is just one of lots backing you to the hilt "Cum on g! Im with u girl!"

Any diet tips? email westyorkshirewire@bbc.co.uk

RUNNING THE GAUNTLET

The smoking row rumbles on, after finding West Yorkshire's ban-flouting boozers we got a huge response from those for and against the debate.

Andy emailed to say "For years I have watched as smokers lit up in airport terminals, whilst waiting for baggage, despite signs prohibiting the practice. I do not smoke and since the smoking ban, have ventured into establishments, which I would have previously given a wide berth, pubs, cafes etc, I now find however that I have to run the gauntlet, when entering or passing shopping centres pubs and the likes"

HIGH FLYING

Mary and DaraghSuperDaragh reported onboard a special flight to vanquish the fear of flying. Here's proof, a picture of Daragh (right) with Mary, looking slightly wary, but still managing to beat her phobia and get airborne. Well done to everyone on the flight!

What personal fears have you managed to conquer? email westyorkshirewire@bbc.co.uk

FLYING HIGH

I received this email in the week from someone who wants to remain anonymous for obvious reasons.

Cannabis"Hi, im just at my house in Burley and there is currently a drug raid going on across the street, aparently the owners have fleed but they have been growing cannabis in the basement! just thought you might want to check it out."

Well we have, yes a drugs raid did happen but we've been told that was one of the smaller raids that West Yorkshire Police have carried out recently and that the problem of specialist cannabis factories in Leeds is growing.

Listen for a special report with Julie Langford on the News at Five later this week.

Remember you make the news - email westyorkshirewire@bbc.co.uk

BRING BACK BLAKEY!

Bus interiorIn response to people using their mobile phones as mini-tinny ghetto blasters Jean emailed the wire to say "if you travel on the No4 FTR bus route (we affectionally call it the chocolate box due to the Dairy milk chocolate box colour) there would be not problem as the conductor asks them to turn it down. Campaign for the return of the conductor on all buses" she says.

Well that's a whole new debate we could start.

GOLF WiiDOWS

GolfWe've heard there's a growing trend for computer brain-training programmes amongst those of us who really should be too old to play with games like that! We've heard of one wife who bought a console for her husband for xmas - probably in the hope it'd make him a bit smarter!

So do you know one of our golden oldie computer games fans?" I'm holding out for a Wii myself so I can play golf in the living room without danger of smashing any windows

GETTING HIS HANDS DIRTY

Shourjo is doing his Saturday breakfast show from a car mechanic's garage right next to the Leeds ring road this weekend. If you listen regularly you'll have heard our mechanic Mark Frankland do a phone-in to help people with their car problems, well we're doing the entire show from there.

TyresIf you've ever wondered whether your bill from the garage was too high, you will want to listen. Mark's running FREE car awareness classes from next week (particularly aimed at the female motorist), and we'll cover some of the material from the course. You can phone in with questions as always on 0845 303 3333.

Plus multi-millionaire Deirdre Bounds will be changing the oil on Shourjo's beat up old banger!

PLUG OF THE WEEK

Walburgas 08 - Glyn Watkins presents his annual multi-media feast of pictures, poetry, music, stories and beer consumption. Warning: the show will containrhymes and may contain traces of bagpipes.

Intrigued? It is happenning on Monday 25 February at 8.00 pm.

At the Pack Horse, Woodhouse Lane, Leeds. Advanced tickets £5 from www.bradwan.com

Cheers, Andy
