When I came to England in 2005 I was alone. ![]() Calling his family in Sudan I lived in a shared house with many people from different countries and different cultures. Missing my familyI wasn't happy. I was missing my family and thinking about them and how they were living without me. What were they eating or drinking? I thought about them all a lot. They were always on my mind. I kept thinking would I meet them again or not? And if I was going to meet them again when would that be? ![]() Kais and his children with a friend I couldn't sleepWhen I left Sudan my son was just one week old. Audio and Video links on this page require Realplayer I really missed all my family, my son, my daughter and my wife too much. Most of the time I couldn't sleep. For two and a half years I tried many times to bring my family over from Sudan to the UK. I couldn't manage to do this. Finally I went to a legal centre which a friend told me about. They helped me bring my family here. Now we are all here enjoying life together. My son is now three years old. I am very happy because my life has completely changed. That's a great truth - believe me. If you try to do it you will find out. The thing in life that I can't live without is my family, I can't, I just can't.
