A true radio star

Nadine Hill, BBC Radio Leeds' Search for a Star competition winner presented her own show on Christmas Day.

Nadine, a businesswoman from Wakefield, beat off five other finalists to become BBC Radio Leeds' newest presenter.

Her two-hour show was broadcast on BBC Radio Leeds on Monday 25 December 2006.

Nadine says: "I absolutely loved the whole process of working on the Christmas Day 12-2pm show, from deciding what guests I wanted to have to choosing the music.

"It took me about two records in to be more comfortable with doing the links, but once I slowed down and thought a bit about what to say before I said it, I felt fine!!

"Emma and Chris who produced my show were fab – really supportive and enthustastic and I couldn't have done it without them.

"I had great fun and even wore my tiara all day because I felt like a queen, but the absolute highlight of the day was finding out that I had my own jingle!!

"I will never forget the experience of presenting the show and my family are so proud.  You have helped me to make their Christmas too! Thank you."
