Shourjo Sarkar - BBC Radio Leeds

Shourjo Sarkar

Find out more about your favourite BBC Radio Leeds presenter.

About me:

Star sign: Gemini (is this really important?)

Grew up in: born in Kolkata, India, lived in Libya, then grew up in Grimsby/Lincolnshire from the age of 9, which explains a lot!

First job: slave labour of a paper round - I still bear the scars of exploitation.

First car: A rusty brown Honda Civic called Charlie Brown

First record bought: it was either Aha - Take on Me or Ray Parker Jnr - Ghostbusters

First kiss: Jenny - she kissed all my friends, I just happened to be next

Fave things:

Food: impossible question for a gluttonous monster like myself... There are very few things I don't like to eat

Drink: a perfect fruity sangria served ice cold

Place in the world: Venice

Place in West Yorkshire: in a tailback on the M62... If you're not tough enough, then why are you living here?

TV Show: Blackadder

Movie: Pulp Fiction, Some Like it Hot, Leon, and Shawshank Redemption

Music Act: Stone Roses and James

thing in your wardrobe: a blue shirt... and I'm also fond of a black all-purpose fancy dress cloak which is really cool

possession: material things aren't that important... We should learn to let go...

zeroes: let's be honest here... You astrologers are surely making it all up... And music/film critics, why don't you lot make your own stuff? Stop slagging everyone else off.

Hobbies/interests: most sports, currently play golf and football. Love travelling, love languages, and recently have started Bollywood dancing! It's me and loads of girls... brilliant!

best radio moment: it's close between interviewing Tony Blair and dressing up as a naan bread in Millennium Square.

AND FINALLY:

What would you be if you weren't on the radio?:  A spy... And what makes you think I'm not one already?
