Star sign: Libra
Grew up in: Preston, Lancashire
First job: Nicking daffodils from the park and selling them to the neighbours… until I was old enough to know better and get a proper Saturday job in a jewellers.
First car: Peugeot 206… Slow and boring and I'm still driving it.
First record bought: Oliver's Army by Elvis Costello - It was probably released before I was born but my Auntie gave me the record and an old record player when I was about 9.
First kiss: Neil somebody… He was ginger and a bit sloppy, but he was the official cock of the playground (so to speak).
My Favourite Things
Food: Thai red curry and mint choc chip ice cream
Drink: Mojitos... Although they have been known to make me a bit sick
Place in the World: The Perhention Islands in Malaysia - Absolutely the most spectacular place in the world… like something out of a Bounty advert!
Place in West Yorkshire: Hebden Bridge in Calderdale, and Roundhay Park for picnics in summer
TV show: Louis Theroux, Phoenix Nights, and Alan Partridge
Movie: The Beach, Castaway (I like tropical islands) and Fernando Meirelles' City of God - about a young photographer growing up in the slums of Rio de Janeiro... Brilliant.
Music Act: Van Morrison, The Beach Boys, U2, Richard Ashcroft, the Magic Numbers… all sorts really
Thing in your wardrobe: A cowboy hat that I wear whenever I travel anywhere, but never in this country, and my emergency jeans that can go weeks without a wash!
Possession: Harvey the Duck (he's a popcorn maker) and my cranky old Pentax ME Super SLR camera
Heroes (fave people): Peter Kay, the funniest man on earth and Louis Theroux
Zeroes (least fave people): Vanessa Feltz, Trinny and Susannah, Chris Tarrant - all very annoying
Hobbies/Interests: Running, climbing, Salsa, eating out, movies, photography, travel
Best radio moment: Convincing thousands of listeners that BBC Radio Leeds presenter Graham Liver was trapped down a manhole on April Fools Day 2006 - reporting live from the 'scene' and interviewing a group of amateur actors disguised as firemen and mountain rescue! And following the Huddersfield Town fans on their trip to Cardiff when they won the 2004 Third Division playoff final.
What would you be if you weren't on the radio? A travel photographer… concentrating mainly on exotic destinations.
