Classical Fantasia returns

Classical Fantasia, the open-air evening performance of classical music and fireworks takes place at Kirkstall Abbey on Saturday 16 September.

Now in its 14th year, Classical Fantasia has firmly established itself as one of the highlights of the year in Leeds, attracting crowds of around 9,000 people.

Specially lit in a variety of different colours, the 12th century abbey is brought to life as the spectacular backdrop for an evening of music from the Northern Ballet Theatre orchestra.

The free event has also become renowned for its spectacular fireworks - the main display accompanies the electrifying finale of the event, a stunning performance of the 1812 Festival Overture by Tchaikovsky.

How to get tickets

The ticket launch for Classical Fantasia takes place from 10am - 4pm at Leeds Town Hall on Saturday 29 July 2006.

The free tickets are limited to two per person. Following the ticket launch any remaining can be collected from the City Centre Box Office in The Carriageworks on Millennium Square.

Disabled applicants should apply in writing to Leeds City Council Events Team, Leeds Town Hall, Leeds, LS1 3AD and must enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope.
