The result of this tournament would determine the overall tour winner with three top teams (North Londoners, South Londoners and Leeds) battling it out for the UK mixed tour title. The Leeds squad travelling to Australia for the World Club Championships later in 2006 split into two teams again for this tournament. Leeds A Saturday games Leeds A were seeded fifth going into the tournament, and meeting the South London team [first seeds] in their first game meant they would have to come out strong and focused. Both teams showed confidence with the disc employing well-drilled set plays and traded the game to 6-6. Then came the break that one team needed and unfortunately the London team took the half 8-6. Leeds continued to score with some long play and there were some great takes from Cath Moore. However the London team proved stronger in the second half and won the game 15-10.

The second game of the day saw Leeds A facing the Bristol first team. Both teams scored their offensive points and traded until 4-3. Then Leeds upped the intensity and forced Bristol to turn the disc with huge pressure on defence. Leeds took the half 8-3 and dominated until the end with Bristol unable to score another point. Even with zone defence play from Bristol and some blustery conditions Leeds worked the disc upfield confidently and took the game strongly beating Bristol 13-3. With a break in the afternoon for the England World Cup game everyone started to relax. After the England win there was one more game to play with the winner going straight through to the semi-final. Leeds were to play the North Londoners, Rampant X who they had both won and lost to in previous tournaments. Both teams came out slow with numerous turnovers although eventually scoring. Halfway during the game both teams stepped it up and put in some great upwind points. Rampant took the half 8-6 and had the edge going into the second half. With a half-time team talk from Jaimie Cross Leeds came out determined not to lose and this showed on the pitch. With some great long performances from the Leeds women, Leeds proved clinical on offence. On defence Leeds pressured the opposition to turn over and capitalised on this with six successive points. Leeds finished the game 12-8 ensuring them a place in the top four. Leeds B Saturday games Leeds B were seeded second coming into the tournament and their first game against Brighton 1 was a good start to the weekend with Leeds winning easily 15-4. The second game was against the South-London based team who were seeded fourth, and proved to be much tougher opposition. The first half started off fairly even and then Leeds stepped it up with good, confident upwind play. Leeds play against the London teams zone had improved since the previous tour and the final score was 12-8. Leeds last game of the day was against a Midlands team, Ping Dynasty who hadn't really been a challenge at any of the previous tournaments. Ping put in a strong performance on defence working their zone well making it difficult for Leeds to score upwind. Although Leeds kept hold of the disc well against the zone they failed to take the vital upwind scores. The pressure of the zone forced Leeds to make errors which Ping capitalised on. Despite the determination of Leeds, Ping ran out 12-5 winners. Leeds A semi-final

In their semi-final, Leeds A faced Ping Dynasty who Leeds B had lost to the day before. Both teams Leeds looked focused and traded the game early on scoring their own offensive points clinically. Leeds then let Ping take a 3 point lead with Ping working their zone again well. Leeds called a time-out, knowing they needed to concentrate on their offensive points and fire up their defence if they were to make the finals. Leeds clawed a point back put Ping took the half 8-5. In the second half Leeds handlers played well against the zone and worked it up well but failed to score in the endzone. Calm offensive play from Ping ensured they converted the points and started edging out 12-7. Leeds worked the disc upfield using their women and scored to make it 12-8 with game to 14. Leeds resorted to some long throws in a bid to convert some quick scores, but blocks by Ping meant they held their lead to win 14-8. Leeds B semi-final The result of this semi-final not only determined who would reach the final but would also decide who would win the overall UK tour title, with the North Londoners already knocked out of the running. Both teams started off very strong working hard on offence but the Londoners took the half 8-7. The Londoners then scored the first point after the half to lead 9-7. Leeds turned it up to score an impressive three in a row to take the lead for the first time at 10-9. With very few turnovers all game the Londoners drew level and then broke back to take 11-10. Leeds then scored to take it into sudden death. The other half of the Leeds squad turned up just in time to give huge sideline support. With the score at 11-11 and game to 12, Leeds were on defence and needed that all important block. They forced the Londoners to make some hard passes and then a long pass went up into the endzone. Unfortunately Leeds failed to intercept the disc and the Londoners scored, winning the game and taking the UK mixed tour title in sudden death! Gutting! Leeds A v Leeds B So the two halves of the Leeds Worlds' squad were to meet in the third/fourth place play-off again. With the disappointment showing and the draining semi-finals exhausting the players both mentally and physically the squad was feeling downhearted. However a fun final game was had with both teams drilling their zone offence, zone defence and endzone plays. Leeds B came out victorious and the weekend was topped off with a fun game of football.
