Find out more about your favourite BBC Radio Leeds presenter.

About Me

Starsign: Capricorn…but I do not believe in such evil witchcraft

Grew up in: chip papers abandoned by the side of the road. Actually on the Wirral, now renamed Cheshire rather than Merseyside much to the delight of the snobs.

First job: On a building site as summer work as a teenager. First proper job was as a management trainee for a Builders Merchant.

First car: Ford Orion (company car with first job). First car I bought Ford Mondeo.

First record bought: Single: Mull of Kintyre (Paul McCartney). Album: Eat to the Beat (Blondie)

First kiss: Jane. It was snowing and it was nearly Christmas.

My Favourite Things

Food: Chinese for starters and mains. Tiramisu for pudding.

Drink: Lager

Place in the world: Rome, Sicily and San Francisco

Place in West Yorkshire: Anywhere with my family

TV show: The Sopranos

Movie: The Godfather 2….sometimes changes to 1 but never 3!

Music Act: The Black Crowes and the Saw Doctors

Thing in your wardrobe: Long black leather coat

Possession: Former Everton and England player Dixie Dean’s last autograph

Heroes (fave people): My mate Howie for his insatiable appetite for enjoying life and for never giving up on his goals. My wife and children for being far more talented than they can ever imagine. James Gandolfini, Al Pacino and Robert De Niro.

Zeroes (least fave people): A couple of the profit sapping, self-interested greedy regional bosses I used to work for in the builders merchant industry. All the careers advisors at school who said the only decent careers were in law, accountancy and banking.

Hobbies/Interests: Football, golf and reading

Best Radio Moment: Huddersfield’s play off win over Mansfield at Cardiff May 2004 and interviewing World Cup winner Ray Wilson

And Finally...

What would you be if you weren't on the radio? Speech writer, actor or working for a football club.
