Seven light displays will be launched, at Pudsey, Morley, Rothwell, Garforth, Farsley, Kippax and Yeadon each evening will feature presenters and special guests along with fireworks displays at every venue to ensure the shows go with a bang.
Friday 18 November outside Pudsey Leisure Centre from 6:50pm-7:50pm. Presenters Jon Hammond and Alex Hall will be joined by Leeds Rhinos mascot Ronnie the Rhino, Santa, and Circus Zanni. Market stalls will be open with face painting available.
Thursday 24 November Queen Street in Morley from 6-7pm. Ronnie the Rhino, Circus Zanni and Santa will again be in attendance along with a mystery celebrity.
Friday 25 November on Commercial Street from 6-7pm. Santa will be in his grotto while Rothwell Library will be offering sherry and mince pies for senior citizens at 11am, free face painting for children from 2pm and a free magic story time for children from 4-5pm.
Friday November 25, Garforth’s lights will be switched on with entertainment from 6-7:15pm on Town Street. The event will include a jazz band and a brass band, Punch and Judy, carol singers, charity stalls and badge-making.
Wednesday 30 November, a brass band will also be in action at Farsley’s Andrews Square as the Christmas lights switch-on takes place from 6:15-7:15pm. Santa, Ronnie the Rhino and a mystery celebrity guest will be all be involved to ensure fun for all the family.
Thursday 1 December the Kippax lights event begins with St Mary’s Church Service at 5:30pm. The stage show on Main Street then takes place from 6:25-7:10pm presented by Jon Hammond along with Castleford Tigers mascot TJ the Tiger, and Santa. There will also be performances by Rainbows Choir and the Larraine School of Dance.
Saturday 3 December from 6-6:30pm. Jon Hammond will be joined by Ronnie the Rhino and a guest to perform the switch-on duties and kick-start the festive season in Yeadon.
