Local Bands

Dakota

Read a profile of this local band.

ARTIST/BAND: Dakota
BASED IN: Leeds
BAND MEMBERS:
Dan Pearson: The singing and guitaring
Sean Hatherley: 6 string hero
Jon Last: The 4 bass player
Ian Radcliffe: Keys and voice
Mick Nelson: Primeval drumming
BEEN GOING SINCE: May 05
BIOGRAPHY: Once upon a time in a place called Leeds, Dan and Sean went for a beer and decided to actually make something of their undoubted musical talents and set about  writing some rather grand songs. Whilst writing it was decided to find some like minded, talented musicians to play the songs, Ian was in a previous musical incarnation with Sean and brought Jon along to play bass. All was going swimmingly and the only missing link was a decent drummer. Several were auditioned until Mick came along and played like a cross between Keith Moon and John 'bonzo' Bonham. Now it's just a matter of time...
STYLE OF MUSIC: Rock n roll.
INFLUENCES: Too many to mention.
FAVOURITE SONG: We don't care about other peoples songs. Ours songs are what we're interested in.
BEST MOMENT SO FAR: Realising after years of playing in pretty poor bands that finally we've got the right people to do what we want to do.
OTHER INFO: Our drummer was in the 22-20's 3 month's before they got signed. But we're light years ahead of them now.
