This year's Leeds International Film Festival takes place in November, and the organisers are offering film fans the chance to mingle with like-minded people and talk about movies and the cinema, with free access to exclusive galas, premieres and preview screenings by taking part as a volunteer. Organised by Leeds City Council's Learning and Leisure Department, the GNER 19th Leeds International Film Festival is looking for enthusiastic volunteers over the age of 18 to help out at the north's leading film event. The festival will screen a massive 250 films over 10 days from 3-13 November 2005. Volunteers can become part of the team as a venue assistant or a member of the festival ground crew. They will have the opportunity to learn about film and gain new skills, meet new people, and be involved in one of the most exciting and prestigious events of its kind. Festival director Chris Fell says: "Every year we work with superb volunteers who give up their time to help with the festival, each of whom add to the fantastic vibe of the whole event. This festival will be the biggest and best yet, and we look to all our volunteers to become involved. It will be an amazing experience for all concerned." If you would like to become a Film Festival volunteer and want more information, visit the website for an application form. Completed applications must be returned by Monday 3 October 2005.
