Eric Jaquier is 58 years old. Since 1986 he has been a radio journalist at a Swiss radio station in Lausanne - Radio Suisse Romande. Before that he worked as a freelance writer for magazines and newspapers. In 1968/69, Eric was studying at university in Lausanne when he followed his first wife to live in Leeds. While she was studying at Leeds University, he worked for the Betterwear firm, selling brushes and shoecreams from door to door.

Having just bought a new Nikon F1, Eric set about documenting his time in a strange town, in a strange country. He spent a lot of time taking pictures in the Burley area, particularly in the streets in and around Rosebank Street - a part of the city that was earmarked for demolition.
After returning to Switzerland, he published some of his pictures of Leeds in a magazine and forgot about them for years. Although he had a few exhibitions in photo galleries in Switzerland and France, Eric put his photography on the back burner for many years, only starting to take pictures again five years ago.
More recently, he exhibited some of his work at the Black and White Gallery in Lutry near Lausanne; and he is currently preparing two new exhibitions for next summer and autumn, taking a trip in May to Greece for a month, to search out inspiration.
