Daryl says: "Since graduating in 1989 from Leeds Met with a degree in creative design I've been involved professionally in 3D product & graphic design in many locations on the planet. However, my passion for painting raised, phoenix like from the ashes of a car crash I had in Newcastle in 1996. Following 3 bouts of surgery that left me with drastically reduced movement in my left hand, I decided life was too short to put off my creative passions any longer. So I took to the brush with watercolours during a vacation to Sorrento, Italy and loved it! "Following a few more life changes, I returned to Leeds in spring of 2004. (At age 36) And took to painting in acrylics on canvas. After painting a series of works for my sister's new home in Windsor. I found myself undertaking commissions for her friends, colleagues and neighbours in Windsor, Eton and Ascot; I have been painting ever since. I donated 1 small canvass for auction to aid the Chernobyl Children's Appeal in July 2004 which raised £160. This will prove to be a good investment for the luck bidder as: "Following a chance meeting with an Italian restaurateur and art collector in September 2004, I am now looking forward to my first public exhibition, in Limoge, France from the 13 – 28 March 2005. My expanding collection of 30+ Sky and Seascapes has lots of preview interest from my new website. I now feel that I have more inspiration, than I have dexterity and life left, in which to commit them all to canvas. "My work is inspired from my photography of the fleeting drama and brilliance of nature. From autumn’s passionate sunsets that smoulder and burn to the Cool crisp blue of the morning sea, caressing the beach awake with foamy fingers. "I paint from my home / studio in Leeds, every day I can. I'd describe my work as "vibrant, minimal expressions of nature's glory" I try to capture the momentary brilliance of a sunrise or sunset, or a turbulent cloudscape caught in a wind-shearing battle. "I love to paint and I'm feeling very fortunate to be able to invest so much more of my time in creating objects that can inspire others to be lost in the moment while viewing for hours. "I am now looking for publishers interested in printing my works to share them with a wider audience in their painted sizes."
