Leeds' astrological chart

By Tricia
Leeds-based astrologer Tricia looks at how the stars have an effect on our city past, present and future.

About Tricia

Tricia is Leeds born and bred, and has studied and practised astrology for over thirty years.

She uses both western (vedic) and eastern (yotish) methods of astrology. Tricia is a member of BAVA (British Association of Vedic Astrologers) which promotes vedic astrology.

Tricia says: "The 1626 royal charter was granted to Leeds by King Charles 1 and although Paynel had been granted one by the king in 1207, it is the later chart which is still, after over 400 years, unfolding the developments in the city.

"All towns and cities in the UK have their own astrological charts, but Leeds is the only city in the UK to have its astrological chart in the public domain for the very first time.

"Leeds has Libra, the sign of the scales, measurement and justice on the horizon. In the ascendant is Jupiter, planet for justice, fairness for all, and expansion. Jupiter also rules the sixth house of legally binding agreements ensuring that proper laws would be used to regulate the conduct of traders, and the development of the resources and facilities essential to their development.

"Mercury, in the ninth house of good fortune,  supports this aspect of regulation, and with a lovely trine aspect from Jupiter it promises a gradual unfolding of fairness in trade, expansion of commerce and providential support in the evolution of national and international links.
