On the fifteenth floor of Shakespeare flats it is quiet and peaceful. Derek has lived here only three weeks and feels happy to be here.

view from Dereck's windowFrom the view of the window we could see the whole of Leeds and more! Cars look like ants and line up like soldiers in St James' car park. Derek showed us a bird's eye view of Leeds. There was Little London and a long way away we could see the white tower of Leeds University.

At night time Derek said that you can see the really bright lights of the City shimmering like the stars. He could see stars in the sky and stars all around!

He opened the window and we listened to the sounds below. We could only hear the air. Through the air the sound of an ambulance siren was very faint.

Derek and his family at homeDerek really likes living in the flats with the great views and the peace and quiet. One thing worries him though! What would happen if the lifts broke down! It hasn't happened yet and with Derek living on the fifteenth floor, he doesn't want to try out the steps!
