An audition for high school

"Going into a new High School, ...well you'd say that was good - to get away from Primary School because of all the stress and the hard work and the falling out with friends ...and all that stuff ...so that's good actually, yeah.

I chose it (High School) because I want to be like... when I grow up I want to be a singer and a dancer and all that, but to get in it (Courtney's chosen High School) you have to do the performing arts like singing, dancing or drama.

...And the reason I wanted to go there was because it looked like a nice school and all my family goes, like my sister, my cousins and my friends ...Some of my older friends go there.

I'm going to perform my best!"

Click on the 'play' button and listen to Courtney sing and tell her story.

"Right, there's just one judge and your parents come in with you if you want ...And some of your family, like your mum, your dad or your sisters or your cousin, if you want someone to come in with you, or your friend...

And if you don't, you just do it by yourself.

Courtney and some of the AL2 Crew....You stand on a stage and look at a spot and you start singing. They tell you when to sing and when to stop and give you three minutes to sing and then they tell you in a week's time if you've got through.

I'm going to sing Mary J. Blythe's, 'Going Down' ...in not an emotional way, but a powerful way ...just good!

I'm fine, I'm not even nervous. I thought I was going to be nervous, but I'm just ready for it.

I'm going to go through ...And I'm going to go to my High School!"

Come back to this page soon and we'll tell you whether Courtney was successful
...or not.
