Bouncing their way through school
Child bouncing on a space-hopper.
Is it a plane...is it a bird?

With the SATs over, the Year 6 children of Shakespeare Primary got together to organise an "activity walk" to raise money for new school equipment.

On Monday the 7th July, Shakespeare Primary School had an 'sponsored activity walk' where children throughout the school could have fun.

The children had a series of activities and were organised into groups. Each group went to a different starting station. The Year 6 children were supervising the stations and teaching pupils how to do the task that they had been given.

There was hula-hoop dancing, aim and shoot, beat-the-goalie and much, much more! There was also a drink-stop to refresh the mind and the body.

The course-marshalls stood at different places around the course to help people and support them.

I asked one person what it was like bouncing around on a 'Space-hopper' and he told me, "It felt like you were going to fall off all the time ...and when you did, it felt like you would bounce right back up again."

When each class had finished it's timed session, the Year 6 children went to the stations they liked best and started playing... and then qickly and quietly back to our places as the next class came out.

The best thing about the day (apart from the fun!) was people joining together to raise money for new school equipment, because this day was a sponsored fun-day. Everybody had to do a part of the course and if they did it, they got a coloured box on their sheet. The more coloured boxes, the more money raised for the school.

A brilliant day of fun and another memory for me to take with me to high-school.
