Can I get involved?

All_2gether_now which was launched in 2002, has something to offer everyone.

Based at a brand new media centre at Primrose School in the Burmantofts area of Leeds, All_2gether_now works with everyone from primary school children through to grandparents.

We have forged links with a wide range of community groups and individuals.

What could I learn?

Our team of BBC media experts run a range of courses including digital photography, radio skills, web page production and film making.

Much of the material created during these courses has been broadcast on BBC Radio Leeds, posted onto the Where I live: Leeds website and even broadcast on the Big Screen in Millennium Square.

Who would teach me?

The project, which works in partnership with Education Leeds and Leeds City Council, has a specialist schools worker working with primary schools in Harehills, Burmantoffs, Chapeltown and Gipton. There is also an adult education trainer.

The team is led by a BBC Managing Editor and a Senior Broadcast journalist.

All_2gether_now offers accredited and non accredited training courses. These often include working alongside BBC professionals to gain new skills and insights.

We encourage those taking part to seek further qualifications through our partners in further and higher education in Leeds.

Others may wish to use their new skills to take part in community radio projects.

One of the All_2gether_now graduates has already secured a job at BBC1xtra radio station after a spell working at BBC Radio Leeds.

Main purpose

The main purpose though of the All_2gether_now project, more than anything, is to give people a voice to say what they want - exactly how they want.

This unique project has won the highest award in radio, a Gold Sony Award for community involvement also a Gillards Gold Award for social action. The project has been commended by Business In the Community.
