Since
the introduction of asylum seekers I have noticed a marked improvement
in all aspects of living in my area. For example no loud music at
three in the morning.
Every
nationality of asylum seekers I've ever met has always been ready
with a smile and a handshake (as someone who lives alone this can
do so much to combat isolation). They are always polite and cannot
do enough to help.

This
behaviour contrasts with that of many of the indigenous population,
many of whom who use being friendly as a prelude to criminal acts.
As a result criminal and antisocial behaviour has dropped dramatically.
By
a little change in policy this could be made even better by giving
the asylum seekers the option of staying on, in their accommodation,
when they are granted permission to stay in the UK.
At
the moment they are asked to find a new home within two weeks, which
breaks all ties and friendships made within my area.

This
creates a transient population with all the problems this implies
for strategic planning by businesses, community groups and local
agencies.
Also
it encourages the formation of ghettos because many asylum seekers
want to move to similar nation areas. Not only that but I lose some
great neighbours.
In
my humble opinion the secret behind any modern, vibrant, tolerant
and settled community is integration. Integration removes suspicion
and hatred, so please stop moving my friends.
Thanks,
you know it makes sense.
