The man who came to play.
A doll's head from the play.
A doll's head ...The story begins.

From watching a play about refugees came a poem about the performance and the feelings that it gave the people who watched it.

The man who came to play

Peculiar objects - a doll's head, a watering can
And a boot coming from a dark suitcase.
When he took them out again
It became a human head.
The story begins.

I didn't understand. Frightening ...
I felt I was really there
The man was running ...you could hear
His footsteps.
We heard guns fireing
The man ducked and sheltered his son.

Scary, worrying, upsetting, alone
We felt like something was going
To happen to them;
But nothing did.
He called for help, but no one understood him.

It was sad
We felt sorry for him.
The man and the boy
All alone in a different country
