UK population distribution
National census data has been used to create a computer-generated visualisation of UK population distribution. On this map, each group of 20 people is represented by a point of light. The difference between sparsely and densely populated areas is dramatically clear. At dawn, the UK population begins to wake up and move around. The video highlights different forms of mobility, focusing on agriculture, industry and transport. Published as part of the Britain From Above website: bbc.co.uk/britainfromabove/.
