Tiger conservation in Bhutan
In Bhutan, George McGavin sees a wild large male tiger roar. This is a moving moment for him and is a stimulus for a short description of the difficulties tigers in Bhutan face and what we need to do to conserve them. He explains that they need more space and prey, and less poaching.
First broadcast in 'Lost land of the Tiger' on BBC1 in September 2010.
Could be useful as an introduction to the tiger. This could form the beginning of a project on big cats and their habitats. It could equally well be used as a starting point for a discussion on how we can conserve the habitat of these animals and so preserve them.
